This Privacy Policy describes how TraceWay (“the Application,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information in connection with your use of the Application. TraceWay is developed and maintained by Kevin Xia and is distributed exclusively through the Apple App Store.
By downloading or using TraceWay, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.
Information We Collect
TraceWay does not collect, transmit, or store any personally identifiable information on any server. The Application operates entirely on your device. Specifically:
- Location Data: TraceWay requests access to your device’s location services, including background location access, solely to record GPS coordinates during an active tracking session. This data is stored exclusively on your local device and is never transmitted to any external server or third party.
- Recorded Sessions: Route data, session statistics, and exported GPX files are stored in the Application’s local storage on your device.
TraceWay contains no analytics frameworks, no advertising SDKs, and no crash-reporting tools that transmit data off-device.
How We Use Your Information
Because TraceWay does not collect or receive any personal information, there is no information for us to process, use, or act upon. All route data, statistics, and GPX exports are processed and displayed exclusively on your device for your personal use.
Data Sharing
We do not share, sell, rent, or disclose any of your data to third parties. TraceWay has no server infrastructure to receive or store data from users.
Data Retention and Deletion
All data generated by TraceWay — including recorded routes, session statistics, and GPX files — resides solely on your device. You retain full control over this data at all times. You may:
- Delete individual recordings from within the Application.
- Remove all Application data by uninstalling TraceWay from your device.
We do not retain any copies of your data because no data is ever transmitted to us.
Third-Party Services
TraceWay does not integrate with any third-party services, analytics platforms, advertising networks, or cloud storage providers.
Children’s Privacy
TraceWay does not knowingly collect any information from any user, regardless of age.
